Ellen Driscoll is 51 years old, a poet, and lives in Glenmont NY with her husband Bill and four cats. She is a school bus driver and trainer for the BCSD Transportation Dept., and leads the BEATeam. Before she came to love the game of golf, Ellen was a competitive archer in the 1990’s, capturing 5 NYS titles and one world title in 2000. While doing this Ellen ran a commercial and private art studio for many years, and was on the faculty of the Albany Institute of History and Art. She also worked as a parachute rigger in the Skydiving Industry for 10 years, specializing in aviation and skydiving art and made commissioned artwork for clients around the world. She graduated from Pratt Institute before Ronald Reagan was president, graduated from a remote high school in Maine before that and was the bugler at a summer camp for 8 summers previous to that.Ellen was fortunate to live in Mexico for a year when she was 9 years old. She started writing poetry just before that. Having just started submitting her work, she is still unpublished.

Dave Langenbach

I am Dave Langenbach. I have been driving a school bus for Bethlehem for 6 years. Before that, I drove for 17 years for the Guilderland school district.  During that time, I was instrumental in forming what has become Guilderland's mini bus program.  We took an old electric golf cart and built a school bus body on it - flashing lights and all! It has since been busy traveling to their elementary schools teaching bus safety.  One year after that was complete I became the director of Guilderland's bus safety team.  During those three years we did all the in house stuff as well as traveling to local malls and the Altamont Fair where we did presentations in conjunction with Albany County Traffic Safety Council.  I have competed successfully several times at the local Bus Rodeo where local bus drivers are put through various challenges and then graded.  I look forward to many more years with Bethlehem's BEATeam as it grows and improves and continues its mission of keeping everyone in the district safe.

Bruce Austin

bruce@beateam.org

I am a school bus driver for the Bethlehem District and I enjoy working with young people as evidenced by my ten years as a physical education teacher and my twenty years as a high school guidance counselor!
My favorite sport is baseball. I played for 4 years in high school, two years in the US Navy and fifteen years as the founder and manager of the Bethlehem recreation League.
It was an awesome moment when the Masonic Lodge made me “Man of the Year” for my work in baseball…but the coolest thing was when I played against Sachel Paige and his All-stars at Newport Naval Station.
But honestly the best thing I can share is my beautiful wife, children, and adopted daughter – we brought her home from an orphanage in Rostov, Russia!
